The athletes compete with weapons and a healthy dose of athletic grace to demonstrate skills of self-defence, fighting and hunting in front of a jury. By Sya Taha.

Hands-free cartwheels, front flips and all kinds of jumps, Iranian wushu champion Haniyeh Rajabi can do it all. The gold medalist at the 7th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in the Philippines speaks about her love for this traditional Chinese martial art and her demanding training regimen.

Watch as these women compete with weapons and a healthy dose of athletic grace, demonstrating skills of self-defence, fighting and hunting in front of a jury. If all those jumps get too much for you, skip to 3:34 to learn about how they also practise tai chi, or a form of meditation, to balance out their bodily energies.
